The talented mind behind prairie fire pictures is stop-animation artist Scott Portingale, whose command of the stop-motion set, lighting, and camera enables him to bring inanimate objects a depth of personality and humanity that is truly unique. Scott's existing web site was a simple calling card site with a single embedded flash video showcasing his most recent release. It was hand coded, bandwidth intensive, and made it difficult for Scott to display his myriad talents and films.
Scott decided on an integrated content management system (CMS) that combined high performance streaming video delivery from a content delivery network (CDN) with an easy to use modular design. The system enables Scott to update his web presence with agility as he creates and releases new short and feature-length films and trailers. The new site also pulls content from his growing pool of flickr-hosted artistic photographs and provides a blog and newsletter capability to maintain contact with his supporters. The new site provides a breadth of information to media and festival organizers, recognizes the support of his sponsors, and enables Scott to monetize his art through a sponsorship/donation system.
