Well, JomSocial rocks community sites! Community Builder is pretty good too, but let's talk about JomSocial. The fine folks there did a fine job, but stopped short of providing a search plugin. So that means that the usual Joomla! search mechanism can't see into the good stuff your Community is generating, like: photos, videos, discussions, groups, and users. That's where I got motivated and wrote this search plugin. Install it, enable it, and make sure it's ordered according to your tastes. If you place a lot of importance on Community content, put it ahead of the Content search in the plugin order. Or, if your site is more content oriented, you might want it to come later in the ordering. There are not a lot of options, so configuration is easy and straightforward.
