Hi Sean,

I'm working on configuring a demo site that shows the functionality... I'll notify you when it's ready!

Some of my client sites are using the plugin so email me privately if you really want a url to check it out. I won't post them publicly because they won't want a bazillion (well a dozen?) jomsocial developers joining their community just to test the plugin

Cheers,

Chris .\\

Hi all,

A demo is now available at demo.chrism.ca (albeit 1.5.248, though the plugin has been tested with 1.6.285)

Hi Chris

I'm looking for a way to provide users the ability to search by location. ir. City, state for starters. Will this plugin work like that? Also, can it be configured to publish on the home page, or does it appear in jomsocial community page only?

thanks for your help.

Hi there,

Thanks for your inquiry!

Currently the plugin does not search extra user fields like location, high school, shoe size, etc... but this is planned for an upcoming upgrade.

Also, because this is a Joomla search plugin it is accessibly anywhere in your site that the standard Joomla search facility can be placed... i.e., via a search module or via a menu item pointing to the search component. On one of my client's sites I'm using RocketTheme's rokAjaxSearch and it's great!

Hope this helps...
