About me
I'm a committed freelance developer that specializes in web design and custom software development.
I create modern, easily maintained web sites for small- and medium-sized enterprises as well as community and non-governmental organizations. I also develop custom software for the industrial automation, communication, and transportation industry segments as well as mobile apps for a variety of platforms and purposes.
My passion for technology started in childhood, but was honed by a top-shelf education from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) with an Honours Diploma in Computer Engineering Technology (1996). Since then, over 15 years of disciplined field practice has provided me with a richly developed palette of technical and business skills.
My goal is always to establish ongoing relationships with my clients that are based on a reputation of performance and a commitment to quality.
Why not contact me today to discuss your project?

transcend coffee
Transcend coffee is a premium artisan coffee importer and roaster in Edmonton whose committment to quality and education is second to none.
Transcend's existing website was a mashup of Wordpress and simple cart-based e-commerce components. A separate domain was used for their text and video blog. Under the guidance of Marketing Director James Schutz, Transcend identified some key areas in their web communication and e-commerce strategy that required attention.

Organic Alberta
Organic Alberta is all about growing organic in Alberta. As a membership driven non-profit association, they represent organics in Alberta and strengthen the organic community through leadership, networking, education, communication and advocacy
Developed over 5 years ago and under the banner of their previous moniker, "Going Organic," the organization's existing website was showing its age in design and capability. It was difficult for organizers to maintain and update, and the design and content was geared towards an organization whose mandate had shifted from facilitating the introduction of organics to supporting the presence of organics in the Alberta agricultural milieu.

Aerobic Power Training Systems
Aerobic Power is an elite athlete training organization based on this simple principle: in all endurance sports, the faster you wish to perform a given amount of work, the more power you will need to produce to do so. Grounded in performance science and housed in a state-of-the-art training facility, Aerobic Power provides multisport athletes of all levels with access to professional coaching, group workouts in swimming, biking or running, and comprehensive weight training programs geared to their unique physical status and performance goals.
APTS founder Kevin Masters initially wanted to just add pay-for-access section to his existing website to provide gated access to a premium video training series that his team was developing. Through consultation and analysis, specific shortcomings of his existing website were identified and a new web communications strategy was developed to better address the needs of his athletes and his growing practice.

prairie fire pictures
The talented mind behind prairie fire pictures is stop-animation artist Scott Portingale, whose command of the stop-motion set, lighting, and camera enables him to bring inanimate objects a depth of personality and humanity that is truly unique.
Scott's existing web site was a simple calling card site with a single embedded flash video showcasing his most recent release. It was hand coded, bandwidth intensive, and made it difficult for Scott to display his myriad talents and films.

Rob Heath
Canadian Radio Music Award recipient Rob Heath is an accomplished songwriter and performer whose well-crafted songs are receiving radio play around the world. A story-teller at heart, Rob uses words to paint pictures in the hearts and minds of his audience, creating an emotional experience for each person as his music breathes life into every character. The title track from Rob's latest album, “One More Day Above Ground” is a reminder that no matter how bad life can seem from time to time, it's still much better than the alternative, and this is philosophy that Rob exhibits throughout his music and his life.
Rob had an existing web site that he and his team used to connect with fans and to provide information to industry and media, however its look and feel was more attuned to his previous album. With the release of "One More Day Above Ground", Rob needed a site that reflected the progressing style and attitude of his music. The previous site was also difficult to maintain with up to date information, and relied on Flash for much of its content delivery.
